Instalación de MySQL en Snow Leopard usando MacPorts

Question

Estoy tratando de instalar MySQL5 en Snow Leopard, pero estoy teniendo algunos problemas. Aquí está mi registro del terminal:

    mysql> show tables 

Try 'mysqld --help' if you have problems with paths. Using --log 
gives you a log in /opt/local/var/db/mysql5 that may be helpful.

'Problems running mysql_install_db', and the manual section that

He intentado reparar los permisos de mis discos, pero nada parece funcionar :(agradecería cualquier consejo sobre cómo obtener MySQL para ejecutarlo

Prueba esto:

sudo chown -R mysql:mysql /opt/local/var/db/mysql5 
sudo chmod u+rwx,go= /opt/local/var/db/mysql5 
sudo /opt/local/lib/mysql5/bin/mysql_install_db --user=mysql 

Si tiene problema al configurar la contraseña de root, se reinicia mediante las instrucciones que se encuentran aquí: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/resetting-permissions.html#resetting-permissions-unix

Para iniciar y detener el demonio de MySQL utilizo los siguientes alias:

alias mysql_start='sudo /opt/local/etc/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.mysql5/mysql5.wrapper start'; 
alias mysql_stop='sudo /opt/local/etc/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.mysql5/mysql5.wrapper stop'; 
alias mysql_restart='sudo /opt/local/etc/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.mysql5/mysql5.wrapper restart';

Tuve un problema similar, la respuesta de Reimund aquí no lo resolvió. Sin embargo, se ejecuta por primera vez como root:

sudo mysql_install_db --user=root 

a continuación, establecer los permisos como deberían ser:

sudo chown -R mysql:admin /opt/local/var/db/mysql5 
sudo chmod u+rwx,go= /opt/local/var/db/mysql5 

hizo el truco.
