¿Cómo pasar datos desde el controlador de vista de detalles a uitableview?

Question

En mi aplicación estoy haciendo uso de uitable para seleccionar la categoría de mi lista. mi tarea es que, cuando el usuario haga clic o seleccione una celda, debería poder ver los detalles de la celda seleccionada en la vista siguiente (vista de detalle). y cuando selecciona el ítem en una vista de detalle, debería ser capaz de retroceder en una vista de tabla y debería poder ver el ítem seleccionado en un controlador de rootivew.

estoy en condiciones de navegar correctamente desde tableview a vista de detalle, pero no soy capaz de mostrar el elemento que está seleccionado en la vista de detalle a RootViewController.

por favor ayúdame con este problema.

imagen una es mi página de controlador de rootview. por ejemplo: si el usuario selecciona @ "make" podrá ver toda la categoría de @ "make" . en una página siguiente (que imagen2).
