Para una mejor respuesta, que tendría que ver a su aplicación de CustomPagerAdapter.

Pero desde el constructor de CustomPagerAdapter toma una matriz/colección/vector de Views como un parámetro, ¿sería correcto asumir que la CustomPagerAdapter 's instantiateItem método (o getItem método si su CustomPagerAdapter es una FragmentPagerAdapter) utiliza tesis Views para construir las páginas ViewPager?

La variable Vector<View> pages contiene Views que son ya parte de un diseño. En este caso, el (solo) View allí es el mGroupList. El mGroupList es already parte de un diseño. No puede hacer que un View (mGroupList en este caso) sea hijo de dos padres diferentes.

En lugar de 'hallazgo' del mGroupList, crear una marca nueva PullToRefreshGridView en el método de instantiateItem su CustomPagerAdapter (ya sea a través de código o inflando el adecuado diseño-xml).
