Bueno, tengo un código para que pruebes. No es un cuadro combinado, pero es un cuadro de texto de autocompletar con modificaciones que funcionan según lo que está solicitando.

Copie el código en un nuevo formulario. Luego, antes de hacer cualquier otra cosa, guarda y compila. Luego vaya al diseñador de formularios y arrastre un nuevo ClsCustomAutoCompleteTextbox en su formulario.

Entonces debería ser capaz de ejecutarlo. Me doy cuenta de que estás queriendo C# (Al menos ahora me doy cuenta de eso). Pruebe esto en VB y vea si esto es lo que quiere, y puedo convertirlo a C#.
