En lugar de leer directamente de los activos copie/despliegue los maptiles comprimidos (siguiendo el formato de estructura de directorio de mosaicos de mapa osmdroid) en el directorio osmdroid maptiles y declaro 3 proveedores de mosaico, archivo, caché y proveedor en línea.

Las clases son buenas para usar, pero el ejemplo no está completo. Para ASSETS_TILE_SOURCE, no es una constante, sino un objeto nuevo de la clase AssetsTileSource. Con el tileProviderArray creado, uso al crear mapView utilizando el constructor que puede tomar eso como argumento, p. MapView mapView = new MapView (this, 256, resourceProxy, tileProviderArray). Para mí es más intuitivo utilizar MapView para asociarlo con la fuente de mosaico, en lugar de asociarlo con las superposiciones ... tal vez sea solo yo. – Yam
